As a key member of the Senior Executive team, The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will be engaged in defining the overall business strategy and direction for this early stage clinical diagnostics company. The CMO will provide the overall clinical vision and provide clinical direction for business strategy, product development, and the strategic road map for the organization. The right candidate will have a robust background in Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Disease, or other related specialty in in-vitro diagnostic product or assay development; clinical expertise, business savvy, and strategic thinking. He/She will be au fait with clinical trial protocol design, overseeing the implementation of successful clinical trials and outcomes research studies; and will have experience working with key opinion leaders. The candidate will be a strong leader and strategic thinker with a background in a high productivity environment. The successful candidate will be the ultimate medical policy decision maker for the corporation and will be responsible for the implementation of innovative clinical programs that include collaboration with strategic business and academic partners.
- Background Requirements
- Medical degree, preferably MD, PhD
- Board certified in a specialty – preferably Medical Microbiology, Infectious Disease or Critical Care Medicine.
- Ten years of experience working in a team environment and five years of experience in a supervisory position managing direct reports.
- Published in peer reviewed journals.
This position will be located at the corporate facility. A comprehensive compensation package, commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and experience, will be provided.
