JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The American Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research on Thursday sent a letter to the United States Congress urging a reauthorization of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
The correspondance reads, “Members of Congress should include and support a six-year reauthorization of the critical Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in any upcoming continuing resolution. For the nearly nine million kids receiving care through the program, this is quite literally a case of life and death. As physicians, we’re dedicated to protecting and enhancing the welfare of patients through clinical research. By acting now Congress can ensure that our most vulnerable children have access to life saving treatments and quality care they need.”
